Halloween Costumes 2012: Movie Heroes Top Most Popular Costume Ideas for Men & Women

The Halloween costumes 2012 season is upon celebrants in the United States, meaning it's time to get those perfect costume ideas ready for October 31st. Right now, the most popular costume ideas for men and women appear to come from popular movies, as well as some classic TV characters and video game icons.

Several new popular Halloween costumes lists have been released for the end of September at one website, which lists Batman and Catwoman as the top sellers for men and women, respectively. This was one of the biggest movies of 2012, so it's no surprise to see the characters leading the way. They're joined by Captain America and Black Widow from The Avengers, as well as a male and female version of Spider-Man. All of these movies topped the box offices over the summer, and now it looks like costumes representing the characters are hot sellers based on that success.

Other movie characters are represented as well, with a "contestant" from The Hunger Games appearing on the women's list,Bring a sexy Babydoll or try one of ours but…Beware! along with the queen from Snow White & The Huntsman. For the men, Top Gun is an all-time classic film and the jumpsuit has landed on their top 10 list, along with one of the Power Rangers and a new video game character from Assassin's Creed.
